Marinetech Propeller-Type Anemometer Provides Reliable Wind Measurement for Plateau Applications
Recently, Qingdao Marinetech Technology Co., Ltd. completed the shipment of wind measurement tower equipment for the wind and solar resource measurement service project at the Southeast Tibet Base, with on-site installation currently progressing in an orderly manner.
Located in Changdu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and invested and constructed by Datang Group, the project serves as critical infrastructure for the preliminary wind resource assessment of the Southeast Tibet Clean Energy Base. According to the plan, 23 wind measurement towers of 120 meters in height and 7 solar measurement towers will be constructed, with an annual data completeness rate requirement of no less than 98%. The site has an average altitude of over 5,000 meters, featuring high mountains, deep valleys, and complex climatic conditions, which impose extremely high demands on the reliability of wind measurement equipment.
As the equipment supplier for this project, Marinetech provided the wind measurement towers with its self-developed propeller-type anemometer and wind vane sensors, installed at various heights along the tower to collect core meteorological data including wind speed and wind direction. The company also supplied a complete set of wind measurement equipment including temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors, photovoltaic panels, and batteries, along with Beidou communication modules enabling real-time remote data transmission. The sensor features a robust structure capable of withstanding extreme wind gusts, demonstrates stable performance under high-altitude, low-temperature, and intense ultraviolet conditions, and offers strong on-site maintainability, fully meeting the stringent requirements of the plateau wind measurement scenario in Southeast Tibet.
The application in this project has validated the engineering suitability of the product in high-altitude, complex environments and further enriched the company's experience in wind measurement services across various scenarios, including plateaus and deep offshore areas. Marinetech will continue to deepen the research, development, and production of propeller-type anemometer and wind vane sensors, providing accurate and reliable wind measurement perception for wind measurement towers and wind turbines under different environmental conditions, and supporting the high-quality development of the clean energy industry.
